ABOUT
Brittany Levy, LCPC
I strive to create sessions that allow people to feel both safe and open in sharing their stories with me. I am a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and exploratory therapist. I enjoy using humor, understanding, and experience to achieve this space.
I believe everyone is the expert in their own lives and therapy is a tool to increase understanding of yourself and the world around you. I'd like to work with you to find new ways to manage your world. I treat each person I meet with an open mind, tailoring my therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of the individual. I utilize feedback and honesty, motivating my clients for action.
I have found my expertise in utilizing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and other talk therapy moves clients to create change and understanding. By recognizing your history, emotional and behavioral patterns, and understanding what your brain has done with this information; we can then identify ways to overcome barriers, and move you toward living in your better being life.
I work with all genders, sexual orientations, religions, races, ethnicities. I respect each individual experience and how you see yourself matters.
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, and Human Development/Family Studies from Indiana University. I earned my Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I am an EMDR trained and certified therapist. Additionally, I serve as an EMDR Facilitator with the EMDR Institute and am an EMDRIA Approved Consultant. I have worked in non-profit and private practice settings to treat psychiatric crises, outpatient substance abuse, and mental health services. I have experience and a skill set that provides knowledge to work with a variety of concerns.
In my free time I enjoy spending time exploring Chicago with my family and friends. I have many interests that range from reading at home to exploring my community and city. I value learning, bringing this desire for knowledge to my personal and professional life.

- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): A form of therapy that helps people heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain. Part of the therapy includes alternating eye movements, sounds, or taps. Rather than focusing on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviors resulting from the distressing issue, EMDR allows the brain to resume its natural healing process.
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy: Using mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress techniques.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Understanding relationship of beliefs, thoughts and feelings; identifying behavior and patterns.
